Creating a safe work environment should be a primary goal of every organization or institution. Having a broad understanding and experience with workplace violence has enabled us to create a program to help clients plan, prepare and mitigate potential incidents. Armed with the knowledge of past events, we start by examining and assessing our client's policies, procedures, and current practices to determine if they are doing everything possible to minimize the potential of an incident from occurring. Subjects taught include: defining workplace violence, handling a potentially violent situation, assess policies, procedures and current practices, situational awareness, concerns and actions of management, supervisors, employees and security personnel, non-violent confrontational skills, responding to active violence/active shooter in the workplace and expectations from responding law enforcement officers. We will also discuss some of the physical, mental and emotional elements that occur before, during and after an incident.
