Over the past several years our nation has experienced a growing trend of mass violence committed by individuals. These episodes have come to be termed "active shooter" incidents and are unique in that the behavior of the suspect has changed the thought process and response of Law Enforcement. Subjects taught include: define the term "active shooter," characteristics of an active shooter, the goal of law enforcement response, team movement, weapons carriage, making entry, communication, etc.
Target Audience: Military, law enforcement or corrections personnel.
Prerequisites: Military, law enforcement or corrections personnel.
Equipment: Semi-automatic pistol, patrol rifle, sling, tactical holster, magazine pouches, belt, handcuffs, flashlight & batteries, BDU's, soft body armor, tactical vest, OC or mace, elbow & knee pads, mouthpiece, baton or ASP, shooting gloves, gas mask, boots, helmet, eye protection (sunglasses), eye protection (goggles), hearing protection, gloves, protective hood, 400 rounds of pistol ammunition and 500 rounds of patrol rifle ammunition.
